Kanye West's Mother Dies During Cosmetic Procedure



Superstar hip-hopper Kanye West has lost his biggest fan - and cosmetic surgery appears to be the culprit.

Donda West, the musician's 58-year-old mother and former manager, passed away on Saturday, November 10th "as the result of complications from a cosmetic surgical procedure," her publicist, Patricia Green, has confirmed. Details about the type of procedure have not yet been released.

Donda West, a former professor, raised her son as a single mother and later chronicled her experiences in the book Raising Kanye: Life Lessons from the Mother of a Hip-Hop Superstar. She also served as CEO of West Brands LLC and co-founded the Kanye West Foundation with her famous son, who dedicated his song "Hey Mama" to her. The mother and son were by all accounts extremely close.
